Movie Night

We will have our second annual movie night Friday May 19th.  We will be screening the BFG.  This is a free event, so come out and enjoy a movie and popcorn with the family.  Doors open at 6:15pm, the movie will start at 6:30pm.

Spring Fling

Our annual Spring Fling is coming up on Sunday, April 30th from 12pm to 4pm.  We are excited to announce that this year admission is free!  Your family can enjoy face painting, bounce houses, rock climbing, a vendor fair, carnival games, silent auction and chance to win raffle baskets.

Tacos and burritos will be available from an on-site vendor.

We need your help to make the day a success! We are so happy to host this event for our Cub Run families for free.  We can do this because many of our fantastic Cub Run parents donate just one hour of their time.

Talent Show

The annual Cub Run Talent Show will be on Thursday March 30th at 6pm in the cafeteria.  There will be mandatory auditions on Tuesday March 21st at 3:30pm in the cafeteria.  Please see the attached flyer for all the guidelines, deadlines, and the entry form.  2017_Talent Show Entry Form

Bingo/Chili Cook-off

Join us for Family Bingo and a Chili Cook-off on Friday February 17th from 6 to 8:30pm.  The Chili Cook-Off will take place in the cafeteria from 6 to 7pm.  Bingo will start at 6:45pm in the gym.  Please see the flyer for more details.

Spelling Bee

The Cub Run Spelling Bee will be on Thursday February 9th at 6pm in the Cafeteria.  See the spelling bee page for more information.

Ice Skating

Cub Run PTA presents Fun on Ice with Family and Friends.  Join us Saturday January 28th from 1:10pm to 3:00pm at Skate Quest in Reston (not Reston Town Center).  The cost is $10 per person and includes skate rental.  For more information or to pre-purchase your tickets please see the flyer below.


Winter Dance – 80’s Night


Join the Cub Run community, Friday, Jan 13th*, 6:30-8:30pm, for the totally tubular 80’s themed Winter Dance! It’s going to be cold outside, but you don’t need to take a chill pill. Join us for a dance party inside. Don’t forget to pop your collar and go heavy on the hairspray! Admission is free and the best dressed student and adult will get a prize. In support of our special needs students, for the first 45 minutes of the dance we’ll keep the lights up and the music low. Dance contests and activities will be taking place throughout the evening. This is a family event–not a drop-off event.

Movie Night

We will be having a free family movie night on Friday December 2 starting at 6:30pm.  There will also be free popcorn.  Bring a blanket to spread on the cafe floor and enjoy Zootopia.  We need a few volunteers to help during this event.  Please use the following sign-up to help out:


Book Fair

We are bringing back the Scholastic Book Fair to Cub Run.  Come out and shop for some fantastic books for your kids.  You can also purchase books for your teacher’s off their wish list, this make a fantastic holiday gift!  Family shop times are as follows:

  • Thursday December 1, 5pm – 7pm
  • Friday December 2, 6 pm – 8pm – This is during movie night so come enjoy a movie and shop for holiday gifts
  • Saturday December 3, 9am – 12pm

There is also an online book fair starting on November 20 and open until December 4th.  Please go to to browse and purchase through the online book fair.

Please consider volunteering for the book fair.  We need a bunch of help to make this a success.

Family Heritage Festival
